QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1. High school diploma or equivalent, vocational or technical training required.
2. Minimum of five years experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of facility
environmental systems.
3. Minimum of five years in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
4. CFC certifications 1, 2, 3 and Universal required.
5. Valid PA drivers license with approved clearance from M.T.S.D. vehicle insurance carrier.
6. Able to climb ladders, use scaffolding, aerial lifts, scissor lifts, etc.
7. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.


REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor


JOB GOAL: To provide a safe learning environment for students in the Millcreek Township School District.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Install, maintain and repair air conditioning, refrigeration and heating systems.
2. Install, maintain and repair commercial refrigeration systems for cafeteria and Food Service.
3. Inspect, repair and maintain roof top heating / cooling systems, chiller units, split A/C units.
4. Install, maintain and operate energy management systems to include scheduling of times and events.
5. Operate and maintain Freon™ recovery and installation equipment. Keep proper documentation.
6. Coordinate major repairs with maintenance department to include cost and material estimates.
7. Prepare specifications, read and follow blueprints and drawings, follow verbal/ written instructions.
8. Troubleshoot and repair electronic systems pertaining to facility environmental automation
9. Maintain and repair the refrigeration side of chilled drinking fountains.
10. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DCNR, DEP and ASHRAE requirements, State and Local Codes as well as District safety standards. Correct and report discrepancies to Maintenance Supervisor.
11. Maintain records of time, materials and operations; order parts and supplies for inventory.
12. Able to get along with co-workers and follow directions of maintenance supervisor or job leader.
13. Maintain all tools, equipment and vehicles provided by the School District.
14. Must show a demonstrated interest in continued development of skills in maintenance and care of District properties.
15. Willing to work overtime, weekends or holidays as required by the District.
16. Any other duties assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Ability to sit and talk and hear.
2. Ability to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and move quickly when necessary to promote student learning and/or safety.

1. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year and salary in accordance with the Technical Support Group Meet and Discuss Agreement.

 

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually by the Maintenance Supervisor or his/her designee in accordance with the Technical Support Group Meet and Discuss Agreement
